Three Victims Duped in Love and Phone Scams, Totaling Over RM5.4Million

Three individuals lost over RM5.4million to Love Scam and Phone Scam syndicates. A 67-year-old female accountant in Sabah lost RM2.2million to a man posing as an American businessman. The woman, who met him on Facebook, made 306 transactions to 50 bank accounts. A 57-year-old woman fell victim to a Love Scam and lost RM2.47million after being duped by a man from England and false customs claims. Meanwhile, a 61-year-old retired civil servant lost RM804,903 after being tricked by scammers posing as officials from Tenaga Nasional and Bank Negara Malaysia.
