Taxpayers Urged to Check Arrears and Travel Restrictions Before Holiday Travel

The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) advises taxpayers to verify tax arrears and travel restrictions before holiday travel. They can check status via MyTax portal and https://sspi.imi.gov.my/sspi/. Taxpayers with arrears must pay or negotiate installment plans with LHDN to avoid travel disruptions. As of Dec 31, 2023, 12,846 cases of travel restrictions involve company directors and 179,719 involve individuals. Restrictions, under Income Tax and Real Property Gains Tax Acts, follow other collection attempts. LHDN encourages taxpayers to discuss and resolve issues at their offices for smoother processes.
