LHDN Waives CP500 Penalties for 2026 Assessment Year to Support Taxpayer Transition

The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) has announced that individual taxpayers receiving CP500 Instalment Payment Notices will face no penalties for non-compliance this year. This waiver provides a transition period for the 2026 Assessment Year. While payments are voluntary to reduce future tax liability, taxpayers with only employment income are exempt but advised to update their income reporting. Additionally, deadlines for revising installments via Form CP502 are set for June 30 and October 31, 2026.
