KSI Think Tank Predicts Continued Strength for Ringgit After 2024 Surge

1/2/20251 min read

The Malaysian ringgit is expected to strengthen further in 2025, driven by moderate global growth, stable oil prices, and strong export demand, according to KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific. The ringgit is projected to trade between 4.00-4.20 against the US dollar. If global oil prices stay high and Malaysia sees increased foreign investment, it could reach 3.90-4.00. However, risks such as geopolitical tensions, higher US interest rates, and domestic inflation could lead to volatility. Malaysia’s GDP growth for 2025 is forecast at 4.5%-5.5%, with inflation expected at 2.0%-3.5%.
