IRB Targets 585 Businesses in Melaka and Negeri Sembilan for Tax Audits

The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) has launched "Op Jebat and Minang," a three-day operation to audit 585 business entities in Melaka and Negeri Sembilan. The initiative aims to enhance tax compliance and reduce tax evasion. During the operation, 327 businesses in Melaka and 258 in Negeri Sembilan will be audited, with summonses issued to errant taxpayers. This effort builds on previous operations such as Ops Borneo and Ops Mega Corp. IRB Deputy CEO Datuk Hisham Rusli emphasized that the operation also seeks to strengthen officers’ technical and audit skills through cross-transfer of knowledge among senior and junior team members.
