Three enforcement agencies cracked down on Port Klang's largest tax evasion syndicate in a decade, causing a RM3.5 billion tax loss. The joint team of the MACC, JKDM, and LHDN dismantled the syndicate's operations, seizing 19 container trucks in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. Investigations revealed the syndicate's use of dummy forwarding companies to smuggle goods. Led by a foreigner, the syndicate managed about 3,000 containers monthly, evading customs checks by briefly entering the North Port's Public Licensed Warehouse. MACC secured remand for two individuals. Earlier, MACC busted a RM2 billion syndicate at KLIA.
